No, too sweet and mushy. I only eat Granny Smith.

I remember them being good when picked off the tree at an very old orchard I worked at as a young teen, but they were never a favorite.

However anymore...blah...not edible.

I don't think it matters where they come from. I live in Connecticut, where we have many apple orchards and fruit farms. Most people I know who live in my area don't like them either. And they're not shipped any further than a farm 2 miles up the road.

They're not very juicy, they're gritty and bland.

I like the sourness of the Granny Smiths. I mix them with Macintosh when I make my Apple Crisp, and my Charoses.

I don't get the Honeycrisp mania. They're good, but no better than many other hybrids, and needlessly costly.

YES: Pink Lady, Honeycrisp, Fuji, a couple of others I don't remember

NO: Red Delicious.

Texture and taste are horrible. I wonder if they bred them that way to make them spoil more slowly or something. They must have been bred so that even the worms won't like them.

They are pretty, though.

No I don't. I think they are too sweet, have a thick skin, and tend to be mealy.

I love Mackintosh, Gala, and Granny Smith. Other local apples are great too. Here in Ohio we have many.

I grew up with an old apple orchard behind my house. We had a few trees on our property. Those apples were round, a combination of green and red, and slightly tart. My mother used them in many wonderful recipes that had been passed down to her.

They were also good right off the tree.

Those apples were a lot like Macs. And I have a feeling that that's the way apples are supposed to be, when they are not over cultivated and messed with.

I can say one thing for Delicious apples - they are pretty, shiny, and look good in a fruit bowl.

Hate 'em- for the reasons described above.

For a sweet/tart apple I prefer Braeburn, Granny Smith for a tart flavor.

I'm surprised they are still even sold. Feed em to the hogs.

Honeycrisp tend to be one of the better priced apples...at least around here...not as cheap as the red/golden delis...but not badly priced and often on sale.
