Hello, my name is Don, and I'm a shakeaholic. Yes, it's true, I had a drinking problem. It got so bad I would make excuses to get out of the house without my wife knowing, so I could drop by my favorite vendor and buy a milkshake and savor the illicit nectar before returning home, making sure to destroy all telltale signs of my indiscretion. I became quite adept at hiding my terrible sins.
Finally I hit rock bottom, I could go no lower, my whole existence was centered on attempting to get the next drink, nothing else mattered anymore.. I was having nightmares of drowning in Jack in the box Oreo shakes. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't eat, my life had been reduced to a milkshake induced living h$ll..!!
The end came when my habit finally caught up with me and I could no longer button my pants.. It was a shameful experience, I had no support system, no meeting to attend, all of my friends shunned me, my wife was no longer speaking to me, and my dog bite me. I had to go cold turkey all on my own.
After a long, dark, miserable few months, I was finally able to cut back to an occasional shake every month or so. I get the largest size available, and hoard it by drinking a little each day, and making it last for several days.
I don't think I'll ever be whole again, but I do have it under control now, and life is looking brighter every day. A word of advice from one who still suffers the fallout, don't ever take that first drink, it very well could change your life in a very adverse manner.
Reading this thread has my juices flowing, I think I will take a drive down to the dog park, the one over there by the Sonic drive in...

Vanilla made with good ingredients, though simple, is my favorite. I prefer no chocolate chips or things that clog up my straw. The shake should be thick enough to eat with a spoon, but not so thick that I give myself a fat lip trying to suck it up a straw. (I'm looking at you, Jack in the Box.)

Exactly what I was going to say.

Although in the springtime, a strawberry shake made with real fresh strawberries and vanilla ice cream is good, too.

I love a good chocolate malt, but I think a mocha shake with a shot of espresso is my favorite. The hot espresso thins the consistency of the shake just the right amount- I hate getting that cheek cramp from having to try to hard to drink a thick shake!
