Apart from having a firm, non-liquid consistency, it really doesn't have anything in common with a boiled egg.

Seriously, many people prefer their eggs cooked to a solid yoke. You wouldn't want a runny egg in a sandwich would you? I like eggs over easy normally on a plate with hash browns, sausage, bacon and a biscuit. No problems with a full cooked egg which i would still mash up with a fork same as an over easy egg.

An egg fried to a set or solid yoke is still a fried egg. A boiled egg is a whole different story.

Egg over hard is perfect in a breakfast sandwich. I didn't like runny yolks as a kid either.

I usually prefer the egg to be fried with a hard-cooked yolk in breakfast sandwich, also. I'm not opposed to a runny yolk in some contexts, but it certainly makes a breakfast sandwich less portable. I definitely didn't develop a liking for soft or runny yolk until well into adulthood.

No kidding! I love my eggs scrambled, love fried eggs on a sandwich.
But I won't touch a boiled egg with a 10 foot pole.

I love hardboiled eggs, and egg salad, and deviled eggs. There aren't may ways I don't like eggs. Poached isn't high on the list, I guess.

Since i have increased my protein in the morning, eggs for breakfast...I have managed to lose 51 pounds.

I make them scrambled, fried, omelets, over easy, you name it. Egg creme pies, tapioca pudding, eggs boiled and sliced in Chef Salad. Yummm.
I eat eggs for breakfast almost every day. Also losing weight, and that's a big part of it. Also, making hard-boiled eggs in advance to cart to work for breakfast is easy and cheaper than buying breakfast at the deli on the way in. Although it's Friday today, so that's exactly what I'm going to do--get scrambled eggs with cheese, no bread or potatoes, at the deli across from my office. Yum.

I used to pick up a corn muffin on my way in almost every day. I love them, but not good for the weight or the blood sugar

My grandpa used to eat soft-boiled eggs in a little egg cup with toast, or mashed with saltines in a bowl. I never liked them as a kid, but I bet I'd like them with toast points for dipping now.
