I spoon butter over the yolks to encourage that "film," but I don't consider them to be fried when they're cooked that way. When I fry an egg, the yolk isn't runny.
I tried something a little different today. Small pan (also did that yesterday), olive oil, today, added pat of butter. Didn't cover egg, yolk was beautiful. Then when I tried using the little scraper spatula thing to move it to my rye bread with provolone and cilantro on it, I dropped it and it turned upside down and a little yolk spilled out. The egg eventually made it to the bread, and is still delicious.
Raises hand, sorry Missy, it is possible over medium low heat. I know as hubby likes the sunny side up look but firm yolk. I scoop a bit of the melted butter over the top as well.
Butter! That's for the toast.
What happened to the bacon grease from bacon you fried to go with the eggs? Are you American?
Not put off...people,e can eat what they want how they want.....but ive never heard of soneone actually setting out to do it....and it seems a lot of work for ....what still amounts to a boiled egg.
My friend's daughter used to cook at a diner and she got orders for eggs cooked over, hard. If you cook them properly, there's no runny yolk, but it's more moist than hard boiled.
