I dropped cola when I realized that what I wanted was a carbonated beverage and some caffeine.

I wonder how many folks will switch to Red Bull or the other energy drinks as a result of this ?? I wish I had a dollar for every person I know who had gave up soda only to switch to Red Bull, AMP, Rockstar and so forth.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop drinking Coke.

I just know someone will get that.

A bit confusing how points #5 through #7 are all the 60+ minute mark.

I've never had a like for carbonated beverages. However, was a huge fan of juice and sweet stuff. Sadly, I'm off juice more so because of how expensive they've gotten since a couple of decades back, rather than the health benefits, but I don't swear by those anymore either.

I still remember a high school chemistry teaching, one time at the start of the class, went around and examined all of the canned drinks. Anything with phosphorous acid (colas, but also Lipton iced tea) dissolves calcium and was bad for you. She just threw them out on the spot!

I posted a similar topic, but concerning sugar and how it's covered by the documentary Fed Up here....

I'm almost exactly like you, except substitute the word "hours" for "years".
