I don't usually eat beef more than once or twice a month. I tend to eat chicken or fish more than beef.
Same here.
When I'm in the mood for beef, then I'll happily have it. love a really good steak or some tender, rare roast beef...occasionally. I do feel better when beef is not a staple of my diet.
Here I am saying we only eat it once or twice a week and now making my menu for next week I think we are looking at about 3 times. But I do have a reason: we are leaving for a cruise in a couple of weeks and there are a lot of things I want to get out of the fridge or freezer before we leave. I know, excuses, excuses, but at least they make me feel less guilty.

why would you feel guilty??? the shame of the health food Nazi's??
lots of scientific and medical reasons to eat beef......ewer studies are touting how it is healthier than once thought,,,and cholesterol is no longer connected to hardening of the arteries as it once was ,, (from meats)
if meat kills you.....I should have been gone decades ago....
its a wonder I don't have an udder....or horns...
just so you dont feel alone,,,i will eat 5 servings of red meat (gasp) next week

Thanks and smiles to you Mr Butcher. I do keep up with what is healthy (supposedly) and am one of the first to defend eating everything in moderation and yes, you are right, studies are showing high cholesterol isn't a heart threat as much as they once thought.
I talked to an old friend the other day. She is in her mid 80s, has a lot of health problems and just had a mild heart attack. The worst thing for her, she says is the restricted diet with no fat or salt. My thought, knowing how much pain she suffers daily, and her age: is why bother to stop eating everything you like? How many years longer will you live anyway?
