I heard he wanted to eat only rice and boiled vegetables. These menus look a bit better than that.

Funny, I was just feeling sorry for the Pope, thinking, gee, he probably never gets to go out to a movie, never gets to browse in a bookstore - and never gets to go out casually to a restaurant.

Doubt the poor guy even had a chance for some New York bagels or Philly cheesesteak.

He came to America and didn't have a cheeseburger? What a shame.

Those are some pretty nice meals. Plenty of wine, too.

I'd like to know what he ate in Philly. Can't find much about that.

The OP's link is just the menu for his NYC visit.. No information has been released about what he ate while in DC and Philly, he very well could have had a cheeseburger, we don't know for sure..

The one day he passed on the congressional lunch he went to a homeless shelter, but the menu looked pretty good. Some kind of pasta salad, fruit, vegetables...

Archbishop Chaput of the Philadelphia Archdiocese was on our local news (Philly) and said that the Pope did not have a cheese steak since he has a very regimented diet.

Pope, you haven't been to America until you've had some fried chicken. They should take you to Popeyes.
