Try Bay’s from the dairy section. They’re awesome.

Thomas's were always made such that there was a larger, dominant half, and a smaller half, and that was fine as the smaller half was still 'in range' of the larger.

But I think the last time or two that I bought them (I buy them maybe once or twice a year when I crave a tuna melt), the small side was noticeably smaller and thinner to the point where if you were sharing one, someone is getting the shaft :-)

I buy the whole wheat British muffins at Trader Joes, they are much better.

I was wondering - so many food manufacturers have reduced their product size over the years ... does anyone know if Thomas' English muffins used to be bigger?
I eat the double fiber ones every so often. I actually think shrinking them is good. Most of us eat too many carbs anyway. I am sure shrinkage is due to higher costs of manufacturing and pressure to keep prices competitive. But maybe a smaller English muffin is not such a bad thing.

The English muffin saga rages on!
Now my new favorite bread maker, Dave’s Killer Bread, makes English muffins. They are pretty good. Pricey though.

Waburtons Bakers is probably one of the the largest supplier of breakfast and toasting muffins in the UK, although most bread makers, bakeries and supermarkets have their own brands. Crumpets are also very important and Warburtons do giant crumpets, as well as scones and other bakery products.

When I am at the Bimbo Bakery Outlet, I always pass on the Thomas's English Muffins in favor of the Orowheat Crispy English muffins.

Dave’s Killer Bread is great. I discovered it after we moved to suburban Portland. It’s gone national now. But I haven’t tried the English muffins. Yet.

I buy their whole wheat bread. Good stuff.

Many products are. The graham crackers I buy are about an inch smaller. When you used to take them out, you'd have to push them out and now they fall out. Crazy.
