So roughly equivalent to what you guys pay, give or take.
Not quite, a kilo is slightly more than 2.2 US pounds.

We don't have Fry's or Kroger's. Our choices are COSTCO, Winco, Safeway, Grocery Outlet and the natural food stores. Sounds like it's gone up everywhere.

Winco and Grocery Outlet are both lower cost opportunities.

I haven't been able to find decent fresh broccoli lately... so Birds Eye frozen baby broccoli it is. Two for $4, usually.

I love broccoli, even as a kid. It was actually one of the few vegetables I would eat as a kid.

We just paid 99 cents/lb at Fred Meyer last week, though $1.49 is more normal. Most of the summer we got it at a local farmer's market for $1/big head.

Because I saw this thread, I looked at Costco yesterday. Broccoli crowns were $1.49 a pound.

I'll be buying broccoli crowns at Cash and Carry today, so I'll make note of the price. Ridiculous, I know, to go to another store, but I am buying stuff for red grape salad, and first I have to buy grapes to see if they are good enough to use. If they aren't sweet, then I won't be making the salad.
