Where do you get those plums? I have a hard time finding the right ones.

Haven't had beef in like a week so I am quite ready.

Beef tenderloins coated in chocolate/coffee and pan seared. String beans sauteed in lemon and butter, and roasted brussel sprouts with balsamic glaze.

DH went to the farmer's market this morning and bought sweet corn, radishes, a perfect eggplant, zucchini, some banana peppers and a lot of bell peppers so it looks like I've got my work cut out for me today. I'm making the cheesy tomato zucchini casserole and enough rice and beef-stuffed peppers to freeze and share.

He says he'd like me to make refrigerator pickles from the banana peppers. I did that last year not knowing what to do with them and they sat, uneaten, for months. Then last Spring son and husband tried them so it looks like we've got a new Fall favorite.

The neighbors brought over two nice-sized acorn squash and in return I will send them over a couple of slices of the plum cake which I'm having trouble bringing myself to slice. Hah.

Here it is:

I couldn't get the Italian ones, either (So. MN.) Sometimes I can.

These were red plums and while they looked very pretty raw I didn't think they had much flavor until after they were baked.

We have a chicken in the oven, too. It's brushed with mayo and seasoned with salt, garlic, and lemon pepper on top with the lemon pieces inside. Some of the lemon juice is in the other oven melting from the radiated heat from the chicken roasting, and the rest goes into the no-bake cheesecake parfaits that I'm making for dessert. One side dish of broccoli-cauliflower mix, which will be nice with a bit of the lemon butter (because too much work to make hollandaise, lazy me says).

Frozen fish fillets in batter, and hash browns. Tartar sauce and leftover butternut squash. Not my idea of good, but it is what DH wanted.

Comfort food macaroni & beef casserole. My little sister had a stroke yesterday. She is in the ICU on a ventilator.
