More kitchen waste busting. This morning, I found half an avocado (slightly brown but otherwise edible) in the crisper drawer, a lemon wedge, and half of a tomato, so avocado toast it is, using a slice of the delicious asiago bread my husband brought home from the farmers market on Sunday. A fried egg, a handful of red grapes, and a cup of tea will round out my meal.

Default hot cereal blend

I'm probably not the first to discover this, but teff and cream-of-barley make a great combination.
Each is simple to cook (1 part cereal, 3 parts water), but teff takes a lot more time (20 minutes versus about 5), so I cook them in separate pots, then mix them when they're done. I make a big batch and refrigerate it, to be reheated later in the microwave when needed.
