I had a stuffed bread that has fried eggplant, mozzarella and marinara sauce. My local Italian specialty shop has all different stuffed breads. It was about the size of a foot long sandwich. I heated it up in the toaster oven and it was crispy and delicious. I would get it again. DH made Vastedda at his mom's house served on fresh rolls with fresh ricotta and shaved cachcavalle cheese. then lightly toasted in the oven. For those wondering it's a Sicilian delicacy consisting of sliced beef spleen that is fried and served as a sandwich. The beef spleen was the last of our organ meats that my DH bought online from white oak pastures. The only thing I had to do is boil it a day ahead. Not my thing but he enjoyed with his brother and mom.
