My husband had wonton soup the other day and did not want the broth so I strained it out and used the broth in a chicken recipe. It was really good. I think I would go back and just buy the broth for other recipes. The place by me makes a really rich flavored stock.

It takes me two days to make stock. If I found a source for stock that I like, and I know what's in it, I'd certainly take advantage of it.

Isn't the broth in wonton soup just chicken broth?

Probably but it was good in my recipe. Plus it had a darker color than most canned broths.

Next time just order pot stickers.

I've never seen enough left over after a Chinese meal to do anything with other than toss.

yeah, I used leftover Won ton soup broth for recipes...I freeze it in ice cube trays, then put the cubes in a freezer bag, using what I need.

In a pinch, I even used a Ramen noodle flavor packet when I was clean out of broth or stock.

ain't no shame. :~}

Seems like it would be good over rice.

Hubby wasn't feeling well and he did not want the broth. But next time I will order him pot stickers. We don't usually have leftovers unless I can't finish what I ate then I have some for lunch the next day.

No, not if it's made properly.

There are MANY recipes out there, but the really good won ton soup broths will have been made using chicken (sometimes pork bones), scallions, ginger and white pepper. No onions, no celery, no carrots.

You make me wonder why pork broth isn't as available as chicken or beef.
