I use mine. I usually buy Romaine by the head, it needs to be washed.
When I was a kid my dad had a huge garden (all organic) and we always had freshly picked lettuce and escarole. My mom would wash it and roll it in a clean dish towel, put the whole thing in the fridge like that. Never heard of a salad spinner back then!

Yep, my mom used to rinse and drain in a colander.
I use mine pretty much every week. I prep for the week, and have a special container for lettuce, which I layer in paper towels, it keeps very well for a week or longer. I prefer buying heads of leaf lettuce but even when I buy a bag or tub, I wash it again anyway, which is what most experts recommend.
We eat a lot of salads but do not use nor own a salad spinner. I had one once and Mr. CSD took it apart to clean it the way he thought it needed to be cleaned and it never went back together or worked properly after that so it went away and has not been replaced.
No produce in bags here either, it is all fresh and prepared properly after we get home.
I use it and not only for greens. Works wonders for wet swimsuits.
I might also add, it makes it a hell of a lot easier to dry the cat too.
