About a week ago, I prepared some frankfurter-style hotdogs that were cooked thoroughly (fried) then frozen.

These are the products in question:

Herta 10 classics frankfurters hotdogs - Waitrose

The hotdogs can't be divided into smaller portions in their frozen state, so do you think it would be safe to thaw them quickly by cooking them, take what I need, then quickly refreeze the remainder?

I'm not sure how they're frozen but I had some cod fillets from TJ's that were frozen with no paper between them, I put them in the fridge and in a short amount of time they weren't noticeably thawed but were thawed just enough to separate the fillets with a butter knife and return the unused to the freezer. Perhaps you could try that with the dogs?

I'll try this and see how it goes. Thanks.

I've cooked sausages and hot dogs, then popped them in the freezer. DH used to take them for lunches.

That works pretty well with burgers too. I prefer charcoal over gas and used to hate to get a good fire going for 1 or 2 burgers. I found you can cook a whole package of ground meat made into burgers, cool, wrap individually, and freeze. You have to play around with times as microwaves vary but when you find the right combination a fresh tasting char-grilled burger is only seconds/minutes away.

I think skinless hotdogs can't be frozen as the juices inside will leak out if you defrost it.
