A really good grilled cheese sandwich is a rare thing, and is, indeed, something to be celebrated!

I never met a grilled cheese sandwich I didn't like. My preference, however, is for seeded rye.

I could go for a fresh hot, gooey grilled cheese right about now, dripping w/ butter

I've had them made on English muffins-
Oh my God so good.

And I've also had them made open faced, elaborately....
So many possibilities- yet always delicious

Oh - this reminds how much I love a grilled cheese with just a little bit of ham...gruyere, preferably!

Maybe this grilled cheese sandwich recipe is little "fancy pantsy" but man it looks good. Is there any food that's better than melted cheese?

In my Mother's kitchen they are called Cheese Toastie and only made with butter, white bread and american cheese in a fry pan on the stove until the bread is a beautiful brown color and the cheese is melted. Add a bowl of tomato soup and it is a perfect rainy, cold, snowy day treat that warms you from the inside out.

And grilled until it's a little dark and crispy in the middle, for extra flavor and texture.

I don't want any gourmet cheese, fancy-pants, grilled cheese sandwich.

Gotta have the tomato soup with it, DG!

I go with cheddar on white bread, though.
