I remember when we were younger our grandmother had picked up some pickles that had wicks inside them and they were so tasty because they were infused with flavors ...I don't remember the name of them but I do remember her saying that they came from somewhere in new England ...does this sound familiar to anyone if so please let me know the name I'm dying to find them .
Hmm... pickles with wicks. April first has come and gone, so that's not the case. It sounds like a tongue-in-cheek explanation of the small bit of vine left attached to the top of a whole pickle.
"Hey grandma, what's this stringy thing on the top of these pickles?"
"Why, that's the wick. Didn't you know pickles have wicks? That's how they get the flavor inside the pickle."

That's exactly what I was going to say, Are we sure these weren't just the stems?
