I boil them, strain and then saute in olive oil, salt and pepper until crisp. Key is boiling until they are bright green, and straining before you saute.
Frozen
Follow package directions.
Then cook some bacon or prosciutto
Cut the cooked asparagus into smaller pieces
Toss in with the bacon or prosciutto with diced onion if you like it
When the onion is translucent the dish is done.
Serve hot.
Break off the tough parts. Put the good asparagus on a cookie sheet in a single layer. Sprinkle with olive oil and salt and pepper. Roast at 450°ish for, I don't know, 15 minutes or so. It will depend on their thickness and how crispy you like them.

Yep! I only buy the thin ones and then cut off about 1/4th of the bottom. I use olive oil and salt and pepper. I roast them at 400 for 25 minutes, but next time I think I'll try 450 for 15 minutes.
Fresh and I never boil them, I break off the ends, roast on 400 for 20 minutes and I season with EVOO and salt. I don't care for thick ones. I like them thin.
I steam asparagus until it's nice and tender. Sometimes's it's not a really bright green color when it gets tender enough.
