Your spouse tells you that a group of people/family will be coming over on Sunday evening for dinner. What's the first dish that comes to mind? The meal you're the most confident about...you know.....the crowd pleaser!

Roast Beef with Yorkshire Puddings, mushroom gravy, garlic mash potatoes, carrots

OR

Steak Churrasco with chimichurri sauce, refried black beans, fried plantains, baked yucca

never failed me yet!

What's yours?

I don't really have a 'go to' dinner but what I serve most often is a Caesar salad, garlic toast and grilled beef tenderloin with grilled asparagus with a side of angel hair pasta with vodka sauce. Put a tray of olives and pepperoncini on the table and enjoy!

depends if I like those people- or want them back .. on the food & on what drinks id have

if I wanted to impress a crowd... , id be cooking up some steaks , beef tips, pork ribs or chops, pulled pork ..

for appetizers id have chicken wings, or venison meatballs

id have it buffet style ....they can choose what they want

if it was all women,,,and they'd be overly picky or high maintenance,,,id order out for pizzas .

It is amazing with a very dry, white wine and a green, leafy salad. The crispy, juiciness of the chicken is unbelievable.

The simplicity of the meal is key.

It really depends on who is coming. There's one person for whom lobster is the only seafood she'll eat. There's another person for whom any shellfish and lobster taste bitter because they have an iodine sensitivity in their taste buds. My sister has a gluten tolerance problem.

I live next to the largest fishing port on the east coast. My signature quick summer meal is grilled harpooned swordfish with a rice vinegar/soy/sesame oil/ginger/green onion/sesame seed/wasabi sauce. Native corn on the cob and native tomatoes in a Caprese salad.
