What's the Smelliest Cheese on Earth?

Of the ones in the article, I've had the Valdeon, Epoisses, and Munster D'Alcase. All delicious.

I'll have to try the Limberger, and the others, too.

I have yet to try it, though. Is it any good? What well-known cheeses (for Americans) could you compare it to?

I think after you get past the smell it's pretty good. It's really smooth. A cheese to compare would probably be another aged semi soft cheese.

I love cheese, if I found it, I would try it.

ah yes.. stinky feet cheese.

I had it years ago. Once you get past the smell it's okay. I really wasn't impressed with the taste. It was kind of meh.

Yes. I've had it since I was a child and I think it's delicious. I find it difficult to get, where I currently live.

I like it on pumpernickel with a slice of onion, or on this dense square sunflower bread. It's always good with a beer. Most things are.

My mom used to love this cheese, not sure if it was because she genuinely liked it or if it was because of the shock factor. (She liked attention, lol)

I remember how bad it smelled, but it really tasted good! Don't think I ever had it spread on dark rye with red onions, but that sounds heavenly!

I think it's a love it or hate it thing, kind of like Braunschweiger, liverworst.

Limburger is delicious on a cracker! I love all stinky, aged cheeses.

I dislike all bland cheeses - like American, colby, mild cheddar - what's the point?

Every cheese should be a bit sharp and stinky!

Excrement stinks, human sweat stinks, cigarette smoke stinks.

Limburger Cheese does not stink.

It just has a strong aroma.

No one has mentioned how Limburger cheese gets its smell. How many would eat it, if they knew? Look it up, I'm not going to describe it. Can you imagine what a Limburger belch would be like? It will come out your pores for two days.
