Honey on sweet potato fries is a thing I discovered in Baltimore a few years ago. Really yummy.

honey & hot sauce & butter for a glaze on chicken or pork ribs

I make a wonderful ice cream sauce: saute halved green seedless grapes and rosemary sprigs in butter until warmed through, add brandy or cognac and cook down a bit, add honey and a couple of grinds of black pepper. Serve warm over vanilla ice cream with ginger snaps or soft oatmeal-ginger cookies on the side.

1. Make a loaf of homemade bread.

Honey will keep for a 1000 years (literally) so don't worry if you can't think of anything to use it for immediately. It isn't going bad any time soon.

I'd like to make the most of the gift, but honey isn't something I use often. In fact, except for a Key West marinade, I don't use it at all.

Can anybody suggest a recipe that would feature it, instead of just using it as a sweetener? I'd like the taste of the honey to be apparent. Thanks.
This sounds like an episode of 'Chopped'.

Doing what you ask is kind of like receiving a jar of pink Himalayan salt and wanting to feature it's unique flavor in a recipe. In the end, it's salt.

I'm thinking the only good choice in your case would be a nice pan of baklava.

Mmmmmm, good!

Whatever you do end up making (a large pan of shortbread came to mind), share it back with the neighbor (s) and maybe a tidbit for the birds and bees in the area.
I know Baklava uses a lot of honey as well.

Raw honey is SO much better than filtered honey.

This is what I eat 5 or 6 times a week for lunch:

About a tablespoon of NATURAL peanut butter spread on a tortilla wrap, a very generous dusting of cinnamon, a continuos squirt of raw honey, and banana. Then I eat an apple. All washed down with a bottle of water. I've been eating this for the past 5 years. I never tire of the taste. Give it a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

You can use it to sweeten your hot tea or coffee. It's also good on toast with butter or peanut butter. It's very good
for you and can be used daily in little ways and that 1 lb will be gone in no time. Some recipes even call for some honey.

OMG eat it! What an amazing gift!

Honey is good by itself, in tea, drizzled on anything.

You don't need to use it up.

If you have any allergies, take a spoonful of that honey everyday and your problem is gone ! I tried several medicines and found that the local honey works better than any of them.
