I just cleaned out my pantry to today and found a bunch of outdated food. I'm wondering how long can I still use tea or spices past the expiration date?!

Until they're so old that they no longer have any taste.

If you search around my pantry long enough you'll probably find several jars of strange mustards and relishes dating back more than a few years. Some of those "wow, this Jammin' Hot Mustard looks interesting, let's buy two just in case" kind of deals.

You can probably use them for quite a while, but most of them lose their flavor after a couple of years.

It happened to me with some saltine crackers. I was eating them on Dec 2015, and the package said they were to be expired by Nov 2014 (So I consumed them a year after their expiry date). They were probably made in early 2014.

Either way, I was extremely anxious and frightened (considering that I have a vomit phobia). But thankfully, nothing happened to me. Phew...!
