LC, tell us your "recipe" for shepherd's pie, or at least what it consists of! Gotta be more authentic where you are!

Mine is a layer of ground beef, browned, a layer of canned corn, a layer of mashed potatoes. Put that in the oven until piping hot and the potates are nice and golden.

Trying to climb back on the low/no carb wagon, so tonight was hamburger pattie, no bun, with mayo and a tiny bit of ketchup. Hubby had his on a bun with mashed potatoes on the side.

Hmmmm looking around, I used up the banannas making bread, then made chocolate chip hazlenut cookies since the oven is warm (plus will bring some to a neighbor who loaned us his power saw)- theres a huge pot of left over turkey veggie soup, tortillas in the fridge...
so far I have had a slice of warm banana bread, and a cookie as apps, lol...

Sounds good to me!

I had chicken salad with a half dozen or so grape tomatoes. DH had leftover fried rice from lunch. I still have hot & sour soup, but wasn't in the mood.

We were sitting here, post holidays, with no clear plan or menu so what do we feel like? DW defrosted some chicken thighs and figured I'd come up with something. So.......... I dredged chicken in some flour and spices, browned it, sauteed some onion, peppers, and celery, a little garlic, a little of the flour to make a light roux, a can of diced tomatoes, a little chicken stock, a few squirts of Worcestershire, bring chicken back to mixture, cover and turn down heat and let it cook. Then, a spoonful of jasmine rice, a chicken thigh, and some sauce. DW doesn't like hot spicy, but if it were only for me I'd add a jalapeno or two, otherwise a shot of hot sauce works. I don't know what to call it, but it was pretty tasty.

Yours sounds better than mine ( my mums to be more precise I always pop round to hers when she's cooking it so I can't take the credit for that one )

It's actually very basic my love..... The exact same as yours ( ground beef = mince? ) and then peas, carrots are cooked separately then added after.

The gravy is beef flavour and the best part of it.

I've never heard of corn in it before
