Apple and banana casserole....
100 gram soft butter well mixed
3 to 4 small buns ripped in small pieces and soaked in milk and after they are soft squeeze just a bit the extra milk out
4 to 5 beaten eggs
6 to 7 peeled and diced Cortland or Macintosh apples OR 6 apples and 1 sliced banana
125 gram sugar

I got some perch. I'm going to bread and fry it, and serve it with mashed potatoes and stewed tomatoes. I'll bread and fry some oysters too. This was a Lent favorite in our house growing up. I miss those times and my parents.

Having a birthday dinner for my MIL. The husband will do the cooking. He's making this lamb dish http://allrecipes.com/recipe/44355/m...z-honey-sauce/
with garlic mashed potatoes and a strawberry, spinach and goat cheese salad. I already made a poppyseed dressing and I will make a balsamic vinaigrette. I also need to make a small appetizer to hold people over while he's cooking. I can't think of anything right this second though.

Tonight is a casual finger food type of dinner. After a couple of Moscow Mules:

Chicken and black bean nachos
Shrimp and cheese-stuffed Portobellos
Beer & Honey Barbecue chicken skewers
cilantro-lime rice(okay, we'll use a fork)
and there's German Chocolate pie for dessert if he wants it.
