Heading out this evening to a steakhouse for dinner with my sister and her family, who are visiting from out of town. Either a NY strip, prime rib or their pot roast dinner.

I stopped by the butcher shop this morning. I picked up marinated lamb kabobs. I'll grill those up tonight. I think I will make rice pilaf and green beans cooked with fat back as sides. I also stopped at the bakery and picked up a mix of blondies, brownies and salted caramel cupcakes. We can have those for dessert.

Hotter than you know where today, so spoiled brat is will start the smoker in a few hours and we will do ribs and corn. I don't shop at WalMart often but they do always have good corn, picked up 2 ears yesterday. They were 15 cents each. i guess I will do a cold slaw with a little fresh fruit in it also. And of course some wine. I wish I had tonic water. Today would be the perfect day for a gin and tonic.

I'm making a shrimp/veggie stir-fry tonight. I went to a local Asian market to get the groceries and also to practice my Mandarin (Chinese) language skills with the employees. They commented that I'm improving!

Tonight's dinner:

Cincinnati Chili over spaghetti
Leftover vegetables
Melon cubes

We have a movie tonight so it has to be simple.
