I will eat it if served, but never by choice. It is bland at best, muddy at worst. Texturally inoffensive but nothing special.

I am not opposed to farm-raised fish, per se, especially since the environmental and quality issues are developing in some fisheries (such as Atlantic salmon), but I am somewhat squeamish about inland, warm water fisheries located in unregulated 3rd world countries.

Used to - now won't touch the stuff.

I will eat farm raised but not from third world countries. We used to buy the shrimp all the time at Costco, not any more.

I like it. I eat it. I am grossed out by the stuff I read about farm raised talapia. I try not to think about it. They sell it everywhere. There's certifications on the package. Somebody must be checking this stuff.

I hate the taste of tilapia. I can't pinpoint the natural flavor, but it's something I strongly dislike.

Now, Swai fillets? What an awesome tasting (cheaper) fish..fried, baked, or put into a stew, it's so yummy!

Swai are Asian catfish, the catfish ( us) lobby made sure they could not be called catfish, they were afraid of the competition. I eat both swai & tilapia.

Must be me but I never found tilapia to taste muddy.

Catfish on the other hand always had that murky after taste to me, hence that is one fish I do not particularly like.

As for farm raised, I've read all the evils of farm raising. Yet, farm raised fish do have some advantages over wild.

Notice all those nasty Youtube videos showing fish with worm infestations? Those are mostly wild caught fish.

Farm raised fish tend to have less worms and parasites.

OH, HECK, NO! No. They are cichlids. I had a fresh water aquarium full of cichlids, including oscars, which are fish with personalities. It would be like eating my dog!

When I lived in Hawaii I caught some tilapia that were the best fish I ever tasted. IF I saw it in stores here, I'd give it a try but haven't seen it in years.

I didn't know they had personality!!

I do not pay attention to anything about what my food goes through before it gets on my plate. There is not a tolerance level for that knowledge so I must compartmentalize.

I try to eat happy meat, but that isn't always practical.

I do like it and I use it for fish tacos mostly.

Yeah, cichlids have personality. Well, for a fish anyway.
