My moms donuts.

I have fond memories when I was little kid my mom making home made cake donuts and donut holes. She would deep fry them and drain them on grocery paper bags. Then sprinkling powdered sugar on top.
Me and my siblings would sit on the kitchen floor in front of the heater watching and waiting for the yummy donuts

I've made donuts at home. They are vastly superior to any you can buy.

When I was a child, I could get a Boston creme donut. Round, stuffed full of custard with chocolate spread on top. Delicious, but the same donut now has a tiny dab of canned pudding and fake brown goop on the top that is supposed to be chocolate frosting. Definitely not worth eating.

Where I used to live, the Farmers Market/Street Fair had a donut booth...they cooked up these mini-donuts while you waited, dusted them in confectioners sugar, handed them to you hot in the paper sack...omg...
