Hello dues how are ya??

Im curious..... Where might I find a good MILLAGRAM food scale??

The scale we have @ home here measures in LB,G and KG (Kilogram) but not MG!!!

I had some pasta rings from aldis the other day and I had to add my own sugar/salt back since they lowered both and the stuff tastes horrible!!!!!

Adding 3 grams of sugar was easy as my scale measures IN GRAMS but adding 390MG of salt isnt because my scale doesnt measure MG (I just guessed @ it... They tasted better the 2nd time (I think I got it closer the 2nd time))

I have looked all thru our drawers,etc..... We have stuff that measures ML but not MG!!

I did a google search but didnt really come up with much.......... Jewerly MG scales mostly.... Would they work to measures small amounts?

Anyway my question is: WHERE CAN I FIND A GOOD FOOD MG SCALE??

Thanx guys,I love ya all so much!!!

I've never heard of a recipe calling for MG. That's ridiculous. You are measuring food, not pharmaceuticals. You must be looking at a food label where stuff is measured in mg. This one has .01g resolution so for 390mg you could measure .39g. In any case this one is only $9 with free shipping if you have prime. Otherwise look on ebay for the same thing.

The better question is, why are you adding sugar to pasta?

Well there used to be 14g of sugar in pasta rings per can.... They lowered it to 11g (It says it on the can) and they taste horrible.... I am simply just adding the 3g of sugar back.....

I just measure out 3g and mix it in......

I really would like a scale that measures in MILLIGRAMS! (Ah man!!)

I hesitate to ask what a "pasta ring" is, but can't you just taste the food, add a little salt, and taste it again (repeat as necessary)? Or you can use this here interweb to convert grams to ounces or teaspoons, as the case may be.

You're not going to easily find a scale that measures less than grams. I can't imagine you really need to measure mg though?! Maybe this will help...

1/2 tsp of salt = 1 gram or 1000mg of sodium

1/4 tsp of sugar = 1gram or 1000mg of sugar

SO, 390mg is in between 1/5 and 1/6 tsp of salt. Either just measure a small pinch/dash, or call it 1/8tsp, or measure a scant 1/4 tsp with your measuring spoons and life will not end.

I can't really imagine that you're trying to break down the amounts of these ingredients much smaller than that, so hopefully that helps.
