Everyone has different digestive systems. Some people can eat fast food daily with no apparent consequences, while others are much more sensitive to gluten, toxins, ect. that are in fast food.
I saw ion the news a segment about 'slime in the ice machine'. I didn't tune in because I was afraid to! I presumed it was going to be about FF places, but it might also be about restaurants, and then I could never have a beverage again. Anyway, just one more nasty for ya. (sorry).
Fast food is NOT cheap. Where are people getting that myth?
1. If you are eating out can go to a diner and get a real meal for only 30% more that will fill you up longer and not be laden with toxins.
2. You can spend the time and effort to cook at home for far less, and it's almost always going to be healthier. You can spend $5 on spaghetti and have 8 meals, and it's even cheaper and healthier if you have a home garden like I do cranking out tomatoes from mid June through late November.
Try cooking rice out of a 20lb. bag. Try cutting up a bag of potatoes. These have a large amount of variety in terms of what you can do with them. Be creative. Things worth doing take effort.
May I suggest that when your friend goes out to eat fast food that you just either don't go or if you do don't buy anything? Tell him or her you ate at home.
I'm a very healthy eater, and I can usually find something to eat at most fast-food places- you just have to order wisely, and don't be afraid to ask for what you want - no cheese, no mayo, etc.
nice to read a reasonable post amongst all the fast food bashers.

Cheaper than restaurants, I think is what is meant. To me, a diner even is more expensive. And one has to tip. Anyway, the issue is where the friends likes to go eat.
If it makes you sick, don't eat it, or stick to a salad with grilled chicken. Or a cup of coffee. Or, don't go. You can meet for a chat over a drink of some kind.

If you watch for coupons, it can be. It's not my thing, but I know plenty of seniors who consider it a treat to go out a couple of times a week at fast-food places and eat for practically nothing.
Where else can you get 2 quarter pounders for $5 and Senior coffee is only $.65.
add in the savings of not having to tip and the difference is great.
