I just saw in a Japanese restaurant, sashimi with japalenos. Looks like it uses yellowtail (hamachi). Has this been a thing for a while? Have you tried it?

I also saw sashimi on a plate with a large bowl of ice underneath. Some people just like it cold.

I think it has more to do with keeping it fresh ♪ ♫ in summer ♫ ♪. Sorry, that was a nod to Olaf in the animated movie "Frozen."

Jalapenos and other hot peppers seem to be used in more things each year. I can remember when they were rarely seen and hardly anyone ate them. That really wasn't that many years ago. I can also remember when they were about the hottest pepper you ever saw. Now, there are several much hotter. For a variety of peppers I love to visit our local Mexican market.

There are plenty of hot peppers in Asian food. I suspect that the switch to jalapenos is because they have good flavor and just the right amount of heat. A lot of the really hot peppers don't actually taste all that good.

definitely see plenty of jalapenos in sushi here in CA. But it's CA so jalapenos and avocados find there way into every cuisine
