I have been buying Wahlburgers fresh proprietary blend burgers. They are delicious cooked medium rare. Very juicy and flavorful also another brand i like is Schweid and sons.
I have been buying ground beef for burgers for a while, though back then I would make the large, thick patties. Now I have been making smash burgers exclusively. I have bought the preformed patties before I went to smash burgers, mostly due to cost but flavors have come up more as well. I would add a lot of seasonings to my burgers but I couldn't taste the difference after they were cooked.
Generally, I buy the Aldi one pound packs of organic, grass fed ground beef, unless I have something better available. I patty that meat out and season it to taste. Occasionally I'll buy a higher grade patty or two at the butcher's counter.

We get the bulk at Costco, about $25 for most things, but for burgers, we get their Wagyu ground beef which is $15 for 3 lbs. It just tastes so much better, but a waste if making something like meat loaf, taco meat, or meatballs.

We're paying $200 for 8 lbs. Which CostCo you getting it for $5 a pound? (I gotta go there!)

Reason: Fixed it.
I usually buy patties as there are plenty I enjoy where I live. However, I do prefer a flatter burger than is often available so will opt making my own when needs must.
