I often mention all my high falutin' scratch cooking practices and discerning and adventurous palate on here, but I'll let you in on a secret...

A couple times a year I get a peculiar craving. I start with a creamy, high-Mayonnaise content tuna salad, chilled for several hours, then spread it thickly on white bread and top with Doritos.

I also remember being at a childhood friend's house and being served a sandwich consisting of a thick slice of bologna on a hamburger bun, topped with Fritos. The concept of a lunch meat on a bun was mind-blowing enough. The Fritos sent my head into a tailspin. I thought it was good, but I have never replicated it.

PB and potato chips sandwich.

For stuff like Tuna Salad, I usually add some iceberg and tomato to the sandwich on those, plus additional mayo on the bread - chips would probably get soggy and they would be overkill for me.

Now, if I don't HAVE iceberg and tomatoes, on a tuna sandwich, I will try that next time!!!!!!!

I'm more likely to use tortilla chips since that's what we have, but the same idea. It would be on pb&j. .

Me too. Plain Lay's. So thin and crispy and salty and greasy - YUM! Sometimes I eat then with Dean's bacon horseradish dip. I know the ridged chips are better for dipping, but the plain ones just taste better.

But I know if I buy them I'll eat the whole bag of chips and the whole container of dip, so I only buy them occasionally.

Chips on sandwiches - tuna salad, PB&J, ham and cheese.

Since all my sandwiches are between beautiful green romaine lettuce leaves, those chips could be pretty soggy...and I don't need more carbs for sure.

I do sweet pickles, baby gherkins to be specific, and a fresh serrano pepper and alternate bites. The perfect sweet/hot combo. With simple slices of sharp cheddar, or almost any sandwich....with the exception of pbj.....with that I only do a cold glass of milk
