Turkey, the last few times I've cooked it, hasn't thrilled me. I think it's gotten too gamey tasting - especially the dark meat. I just stuff a standard sized chicken and put it in the oven and cook it lovingly.

I hate pumpkin pie. Reminds me too much of what you find in a toddler's diaper. (in fact I call it B.S.P)

I've had enough of that in this forum. I don't want to know what runny eggs, raw oysters, or guacamole remind you of. How vulgar.

I had no idea so many folks disliked pumpkin pie! I thought I was the only one. I've been told for decades that I'm weird because I don't like pumpkin pie.....turns out I have a lot of company.

My tastes have changed. I don't like turkey as much as I used to. If we stay home, we will have turkey with trimmings. I'm sort of pushing for a trip to the beach. We can have turkey sandwiches instead and then grill over a sand pit.

Hopefully it will be just the two of us. Not looking forward to going to the Outlaws. In either case it will be a traditional turkey dinner with the usual sides. I make a mean sweet potato casserole. I always make a dinner for us too. We like leftovers. I don't cook for a week. :

We like Pumpkin. I could do without all the Pumpkin Spice craze though. This is for your DH. Pumpkin for him and easy for you. It makes a lot but it keeps for weeks. I usually share with some of my homebound folks. If you want to get fancy use sherbet dishes. I usually just serve it like a dip.

Pumpkin Fluff

15 oz can pumpkin {plain pumpkin not pumpkin pie filling}
5 oz pkg instant vanilla pudding
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
16 oz Cool Whip thawed.

Add dry pudding mix*and spice to pumpkin and mix well.
Fold in thawed Cool Whip.
If you're in a hurry you can use frozen Cool Whip.
It just takes*a little longer to mix.

Serve with Ginger Snaps or Cinnamon Crisps.*I use Cinnamon Crisps.
Ginger*Snaps are good but they're a little hard.

In my book, the beach wins. I'd be happy with a hot dog.

I love pumpkin pie. It's my 2nd fav pie in the world. MY pumpkin pie anyway. I've had others I don't like. If it's got too much clove in it.. nope. Like Cecilia Rose I"m not wild about the pumpkin spice craze tho... I like my pumpkin in pie or roll... but not coffee or candy.

Target sells this frozen turkey breast roast that you cook straight from the freezer, it takes about 2.5-3 hours, and costs around $13. It feeds 4-6 easily. We had this at a friend’s house a few years ago and it was so good that we’ve had it every year since!

Thanksgiving isn’t thanksgiving for us without a turkey dinner, but between my picky kids and my own food allergies, it’s not really a feast for us. We will have potatoes, some kind of squash/sweet potatoes dish, broccoli and cauliflower, carrots, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy. Dessert will probably be an apple pie.
