I got a cutting board with changeable cutting matts. I admired my friend's and she bought me one for Christmas. My DH are building now so I don't have a kitchen yet but I will keep it on the counter. I do a lot of chopping.

I have gotten some really good kitchen gifts over the years and I don't do the "in" gadgets.

not a thing this year, but at least 3 people in our family got air fryers. Our daughter called last night to say she used hers for jalapeno poppers. I think she made one other thing as well, but can't remember what.

As a rule kitchen gifts for me or garage/workshop gifts for him are off limits for Christmas. If its something we need we tend to buy it anyway.

This year however there was an exception, a Mason Cash cane and white mixing bowl. My grandmother had one which passed to my mother. When mum died it disappeared, I have always wanted one and with their revival on the great British baking show they have become quite popular.

Our son made new oak sideboards for his dad's BBQ grill. The old plastic ones were looking tough. DH was tickled.

Chef Daughter brought wonderful frozen and canned things that will provide many meals. The one I'm most looking forward to is the elk and morel Stroganoff with home-made fettuccini. Oh boy!

I no longer want any kitchen appliances. But I did buy myself a cute little set of four snowflake cookie cutters because I was gifting a few people shortbread cookies and wanted to dress them up a bit.

An electric reversible grill/griddle, which I wanted. A griddle makes it so much easier for pancakes and melted cheese sandwiches etc.

I got a stainless steel Joseph Joseph garlic rocker mincer and a Spice Ball.

I gave my sibling the Williams Sonoma Spice Rub Library - 12 dry rubs.

I got an Oxo good grips salad chopper and bowl and was excited to use it for the first time last night. My husband asked for and received a sous vide circulator and used it with limited success on Christmas night.

We both love kitchen gear. But we were saying this morning that we need to do a cabinet clean-out/overhaul to get rid of things we no longer need.

I received 2 kitchen gifts. My son bought me a new Capresso coffee grinder. It's pretty cool and replaces one that's about 20 years old. I'm amazed at how quiet it is.

My husband bought me, on my request, a pasta drying rack. I used it tonight when I made pasta for tomorrow. I was amazed at how much easier it is compared to trying to dry it all on towels all over the kitchen
