I fell off the Lenten-liquor wagon on Saturday because we went to a birthday party and I had some wine. I behaved on Sunday and Monday though. Tonight we are having short-rib meatloaf over polenta, spinach (w. pork neckbones) and cherry pie for dessert.
Wow, that's some kind of gourmet meatloaf. I toss smoked pork neckbones in my braised collards.
It was cold so I made a stew with lentils, beans and sausage. Bonus ingredient - peppadew peppers as part of my base to go with onions and carrots. Added a nice bit of brightness to the hearty stew. Roasted delicata squash on the side.
Tonight vegetarian chili,homemade plain yogurt.To drink lassi. For dessert clementines or green grapes.
