Well, it ended up being Whoppers from BK.

Yeah, I think another year could go by before I would want to eat another.
Spoiled on homemade for too long.

Tonight was a great experiment.

This past weekend, I'd bought a 3-pack of peppers (red, orange, and yellow) and a pack of crimini mushrooms. Also this weekend, I julienned the peppers and sauteed them until soft. I also sauteed the mushrooms. So there they were in my fridge this evening.

I don't buy pasta (because I love it too much) but a few weeks ago, I'd bought buckwheat noodles, which are lower in calories and carbs but "are exactly the same as spaghetti." I didn't believe the last part -- about "exactly the same as" -- but I wanted to try them. I miss noodles!

The noodles were super-quick to make (3-4 minutes). I topped them with some pasta sauce that I already had, along with some of the peppers and mushrooms. Nuked it for a minute because the peppers and mushrooms were in the fridge. Topped it all with some Parmesan cheese. And... delicious!

Are the buckwheat noodles "exactly the same as spaghetti"? Of course not. But really darn close! It totally satisfied that craving.

OMG. I HAVE buckwheat noodles. I use them for asian dishes, and it NEVER crossed my mind to use them for Italian.
