We are sitting here waiting for the rain and ice to start. Lunch was home made chicken soup, but dinner will be pasta topped with mushrooms, and shrimp. We are having avocado and cottage cheese salad with it and green beans.

Lots of good dinner ideas on this thread

Tonight, I put together the left-over ham, for a scalloped potatoes casserole, quartered a tomato on the side. To drink, I finished off my Snapple with mango tea. Mr C had a glass of beer [7 Seas Tropicana IPA]. He allowed me a few sips

Dessert: scoop of Breyer's salted caramel truffle gelato.

Tonight we are having slow cooker baby back ribs in a spicy red pepper sauce over polenta, a garden salad, toasted Italian loaf (topped with parmesan, diced parsley and lots of butter), and lemon sorbet for dessert.

I have no such excuse.

Back to healthier eating tonight. I've got my no-knead bread dough working in the refrigerator again, so I'm doing a simple meal of a fresh-baked round of bread and a Big Salad of romaine and iceberg, hard boiled egg and roma tomato wedges, celery, carrot, sugar snap peas, daikon radish, sunflower seeds, and buttermilk ranch.

Leftovers, and the pickings are getting sparse.

Tomorrow night is a military xmas party, it's at an 80s retro club, so lots of fried food type stuff will be put out, the next night is a BBQ for DH's retirement, lots of good food. DH is going to smoke and pull a pork shoulder, make some BBQ sauce and we will serve it on hawaiian sweet bread with arugula.

Tonight was ski team practice night. I packed my dinner and ate it at the mountain. It was ham, turkey and munster cheese with Boston lettuce and Duke 's (!) mayo on Syrian bread.
