Skipped b'kfast & lunch, cuz I was too full & am still not hungry, so I'll just have a small garden salad whenever I become hungry & some hot, black tea. Just goin' with the flow, of late...
Ya, so I’m not that good at slow cooker either. I’m making bean soup tomorrow and maybe I’ll just chuck it into the slow cooker and see what happens.
I have a big ham bone with a lot of meat on it and the soaked beans. Really though, why wouldn’t i just put it on the stove? Beats me.

A penne pasta salad with poached chicken, yellow and green bell pepper, sugar snap peas, carrot, celery, and a garlicky fresh herb-yogurt-mayo blended dressing.

I understand, Gentle. They're new appliances to me & I've got 1 that's 6qts, which is really too big for 1 person & a small 1.5qts, which, as it turns out, is only the right size to feed a small ant hill, if 1/2 are away on vacation. Strange, as I thought the larger would be too small & vice versa, when they were empty in the store. That little one will only hold a Cornish hen... can't even cram 1/2 potato or a piece of carrot in with it.

For me, it's to cut down on electricity & heat inside the apt. I've slow cooked meals or baked bread in the oven for so many years, I stopped using the stove top for all but eggs or pasta. Either method, I do like that I don't have to watch the pot. I'll either get used to it or they'll go to the Goodwill when I move in Dec.

Hope your beans turn out well! I used to make cassoulet years ago... might be a nice thing to make in the crockpot.

That makes sense...the heat thing. You should make big batches in the crockpot and freeze the extra. My idea of heaven is a yummy dinner that just needs a bit of microwaving.

I took time out tonight to present what I mean by the chicken salad wheel platter. This I do 3-4 nights a week. It's easy on my stomach and fits well in summer weather. The tomatoes are just coming in. They are only available in a local area as they are produced for taste not shipping or shelf life. Granger County tomatoes here in TN. Next thing to coming in from a kitchen garden.

Tonight was brisket

And a salad with spinach, strawberries, red onion and Bulgarian feta. I sent the husband out for French feta before we left on vacation. He came back with Bulgarian instead. I think I am in love!
