Great minds think alike or something like that! I will be making both potato and sauerkraut and mushroom pierogies. I am serving with bacon and onions in a butter sauce, sour cream and applesauce. I will round out dinner with a salad.
Making a huge pot of chili. I started it yesterday and will finish adding to it this morning. I sorta thought if I did a fall/winter dish maybe mother nature would get the idea and bring us some fall weather.
Much to DH's disappointment I made a quiche last night, so schnitzel will be tonight.

Heh. Sing along with me, "Men, men, men, men. . ."
We're having leftover fried walleye sandwiches. I think I can perk them up a little bit without wrecking the fish. Toasting the bun should help.
Our host told us, Take the rest of the walleye home with you. When we demurred he said he never eats leftover fried fish.
So it was like, "Oh sure - you won't eat it but it's good enough for us." (All safe banter as we've been friends for over fifty years.)
He told us a story of when he is taking people out on Minnesota's northern lakes. He always wants to prepare more than enough fish to make sure they get their money's worth. So after lunch he'll toss the leftover filets on the shore for the creatures. He says his guests just lose it at him tossing walleye away. He shrugs. "The birds need to eat, too."
Their meal was wonderful. The last of their mixed cherry tomatoes with mushrooms, balsamic vinegar and olive oil, baked potatoes and sour cream, candied squash and a beautiful honeycrisp apple crisp with ice cream. It was the most delicate shade of pink and hinted of cinnamon and nutmeg.
It's cold and damp here. Snowed in northern MN this week.
Beef fajitas with all the fixins! I also make up the spices homemade. Yum
