Filet mignon and bakers. And I hope that is the last piece of the 2015 cow! I try to keep the freezer inventoried and organized, but when hubby defrosts every year things don't go back in in the order they should come out. (Older proteins on top shelf and to the left).

We are having pork chops, winter squash and salad tonight. I am not sure about a carb yet, will think about it over the day and then decide. I may have the rice from last night or may just skip the carb altogether.

Probably the last warm day for this year, although one never knows.

Tonight mixed garden salad with tandoori chicken breast dices. Lassi to drink. For dessert baked pear halves with honey/cinnamon and walnuts.

Tonight it's chef's salads with ham, chicken and hard boiled egg and Texas toast. For dessert, an old-fashioned comfort food - tapioca pudding. I'll make it the way DH's mom did, whipping the egg whites and folding them in.

He left a note on the kitchen table this morning that there was a light dusting of snow on the ground when he got up. "A harbinger," he said.

I laughed. Didn't know he knew that word. No matter how long you've lived with someone there are still surprises. But it's no surprise he loves tapioca pudding done his mom's way.

Tonight we are having seafood gumbo that I put in the slow cooker early this morning, along with garlic toast, collard greens and spice cupcakes for dessert.

That must have looked beautiful.
