What's for Dinner? 2018 Edition (Louisiana, hamburger, mushroom, tomatoes)

We had homemade pita with Greek meatballs and tzatziki. We were supposed to have some of the dolmades I had made previously and frozen, but DH and I both forgot to take them out wirh all the running around we did today.

Triscuits with summer sausage, mustard, and cheddar. A second course of chicken tortilla soup over avocado with jack cheese and crumbled chips.

Roasted garlic chicken with mashed potatoes with gravy and asparagus.

Enjoyed a BLT sandwich and watermelon slices again, but drank a different beer: Red Stripe.

Beef stir-fry with bell peppers, snow peas and broccoli. Served with steamed rice.

Leaving the house about 8:30 and won't be home until maybe, 3pm or so: a very busy day. Needless to say, easy dinner and quick: we are having a wonderful pizza, better known as frozen with some doctoring up. Add to that, it will be a true junk food day, as we will probably stop someplace for a quick lunch. OK, so I am being a bad girl. It won't be the last time I am sure.

Getting ready to celebrate with family and friends Diwali on November 7 leading up to the weekend.So lots of delicious variety of East Indian food and sweets we bring to each others homes.
I am making at the moment a big pot of green lentil soup/moong daal in my slow cooker.Served with jawaan/carom seeds chapatis and a bit of fresh made ghee,lime pickles and a plate with red and Vidalia onion slices,tomato and cucumber slices.To drink lassi.For dessert warm kheer/rice pudding with green cardamon seeds,rosewater and a few roasted pecans for garnish and a cup of masala chai.
