Next time any of you go to Jack in the Box, get a chicken fajita and tell them to add extra grilled onions..it is so tasty!!

Love them on sandwhiches/ burgers raw or grilled or both -

also Love fried onion straws, so crispy light oniony goodness, with BBQ sauce!

I think French onion soup is far too salty for my tastes..I prefer chicken broth with onions..

There's nothing in onion soup that is inherently salty. If it's too salty it's because whoever made it added too much salt or used broth with too much salt already added.

I tried Progresso and Campbells--both were way to salty

Sorry. I thought you meant real soup that somebody actually made, not soup produced in a factory.

Try some real food sometime, you might like it.

Try cooking refried beans in onion-flavored oil: Slice a whole onion and cook it slowly in a pan of neutral oil (canola, light olive, etc.). Make sure you caramelize the onion. Remove the caramelized onion and cook the refried beans in the remaining oil.
