What is your favorite thing to fill tacos with??

From the basic fillings, I love spicy chorizo, carnitas, or steak. Also not traditional but there is one place in NYC that makes them with like steak and yellow cheese and it's lit af!

At Christmas I made a spicy ground beef and potato mixture that was fantastic. We ate it in corn tortillas with lime and queso fresco. Possibly my new favorite. I also love tacos al pastor.

If I make my own - a carnitas-type filling.
If I'm out, Taco Bell's Soft Taco Supreme - "Make a Run for the Border!".

Pork or beef chunks with lime, cotija cheese and cilantro if I'm just trying a new place.

However, there is a taco place in my city that has some very elaborate ones, Torchy's - my friends and I are all addicted. The one I like has grilled chicken, baby spinach, roasted corn, chipotle sauce, bacon-whiskey jam and cheese. OMG. It's just soooo good. Pair that with an order of chips and their amazing guac and I am so unbelievably happy.

1.Carnitas with crema, onions and cilantro, or pico de gallo.

2. Roasted chicken and beans with crema, onions and cilantro, or pico de gallo.

3. Al Pastor

4.. Pintos with crema, onions and cilantro, or pico de gallo.

I am not above some Tex-Mex tacos filled with ground beef seasoned with "taco spices" (red chile powder, cumin, garlic) and topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, and shredded cheddar.

I can't choose.I love New Mexican, Tex Mex and regular Mexican food. I've really grown to live cilantro in tacos, but it isn't required and neither is cheese. I love green chile pork, shredded beef, onions, fish, spicy and flavored sauces. Torchy's does have good tacos, but so do so many places that are not a chain. I learned about a new kind that had guisada last year. I think I will have to go try it again to make sure it is still good.

My tastes have changed. I can't handle the imitation ones that have a cheesy sauce or were cooked without flavor. The ones I make are ok, but only an imitation.
