I met my girlfriend through an Asian singles tour in China and she wants the both of us to go to a restaurant that serves unlimited meat and side dishes. I suggested that we should go to a Korean one since it’s all the rage today. I keep seeing posts about samgyupsal and grilled meat with cheese but my gf insists we should try Japanese. She says that the meat tastes better and the side dishes they serve is her favorite. We both haven't tried the korean one but she insists I should try the Japanese. I decided to research which restaurant is better and compromise later.

I prefer the Korean style of grilling meats, and the assorted Korean banchan dishes are amazing.

If you wish to keep your girlfriend, let her make the choice. This question has nothing to do with food: it's about gentlemanly behavior. Besides, you can visit both if you have two more dates.

any lady that wants to go to a restaurant for unlimited meats.....sounds like a keeper to me...

this is a no-brainer......go where she wants to go.......you make this a test of wills......you will have plenty of time to go to any restaurant you wish-alone.... first dates are like a personality interview.. back off and enjoy the moment.....and enjoy her

Neither.

Go to a Brazilian steakhouse house.

"Asian singles tour"!??! Oh boy.

Dude, head over to the relationships board. Actually, the non romantic relationships board. That's where this little foray is going to go (based on your question AND the obvious perils of mail order brides.)

The lady has expressed a desire for the Japanese restaurant. Be a gentleman and escort the lady where she wishes to go.

After the Japanese, if that date goes well, then try some different restaurants.

(Really? You think a bunch of strangers on the internet are going to tell you what your girlfriend wants for dinner?)

I believe this individual has in fact posted several times in the relationship section, there's always this one individual discussing the 'dating tour' he's been on.

This is a food forum and the original question was "Which is better? Korean or Japanese grill?"; I answered that question. Now, the "dating advice" should be handled elsewhere. I certainly don't care to read dating advice on this forum.
