Devonshire double cream is a special case - its not the same as double cream in general. Double cream comes from dairy cows. Devonshire Jersey cows produce an especially fat-rich milk - which when you make double cream out of it gives you an exceptionally thick double cream. Its not like normal double cream.

All Jersey and Guernsey cows' milk is exceptionally high in butterfat.
