I tried it and loved it. I didn't have any garlic salt, so I substituted garlic powder and a little bit of salt. I'm not sure if it makes a difference.
On a side note, I always use Old Bay when making fries in the oven. I put the sliced potatoes in a bowl, lightly coat them with EVOO, sprinkle on some Old Bay, a pinch of salt, roll everything around with my fingers for a few seconds, transfer to a baking sheet, and throw it in the oven. They come out great.
Not spices per se but my favorite egg dish would be shaksuka, spiced up liberally with hot peppers (preferably fresh, not dried). Serve it with bread, mild feta cheese and a hot cup of tea on the side and that's a comforting breakfast.
Yes. Ground pepper (black, chili, red) , fresh diced peppers in season (if that counts), dill, and fresh basil in season.
Generally, I have it scrambled with diced Italian sausage / Aldi's chicken breakfast sausage - which has a nice spice mix of its own, - or occasionally ham. All the meat is fried and drained of grease before I then add the diced peppers (if fresh), the scrambled eggs and then sprinkle the spices as the eggs start to 'set'
It makes an excellent high nutrition meal.
