I am blessed to live near a strawberry farm so I get to pick my own. They are sweet tart and make excellent jam, ice cream, whatever! GA strawberries are second only to FL strawberries. I avoid CA strawberries because they are hard and lack flavor and aroma. They sure are pretty, though.
I actually prefer sliced fresh fruit (strawberries, grapes, or bananas) when I make a pbj, but like a spoonful of jam in plain Greek yogurt.
The kind with the lowest pectin content. Ive had cheap jam that was so full of pectin, you had to put slices of it on your bread. Sometimes it works to turn hold the jar upside down and shake it. If the jam settles to the other end of the jar and leaves a gap near the bottom, its not too pectiny.
