There are some foods we do try to stay away from: though we love our ham and I fix one a couple of times a year any meat like that, hot dogs, brats, etc including lunch meat is very limited in our home. We do get brats occasionally or like the other day, I was in Fresh Market and they had their sausages on sale so I bought 2 lbs. One lb was blue cheese, garlic chicken sausage. I know, it isn't good for us for us, but it is bck to that: moderation argument. Many of us who are older are still kicking and have been eating processed foods for years. Today, I am always amazed with the number of people in the store who have their baskets filled with processed foods. That is a different story.
I can also imagine what kind of response this thread is going to bring.
Wine, butter, beef, cheese, chocolate, ... The list of what will get you six feet under in a hurry is endless. It seems like Dove soap eaten in moderation is the last food that is truly good for you.
This will not keep me from enjoying a ridiculously good charred hot dog with two cold beers on a hot summer day.
I'm not sure what all can be extrapolated from this.
It's common sense that hot dogs aren't healthy. With that said, mania? I don't feel well after eating some hot dogs. I don't mind a big Vienna Beef frank Chicago style occasionally. I can't do it with fries, but hot dogs and chips are fine occasionally.

Yes, recently my "new age" daughter told me that my Dove soap, Oil of Olay, (which I have been using for centuries, my Body Butter with Olive Oil and Shea Butter AND the microwave are very, very bad for me to use. Knock on wood as they say but I think the usage of the aforementioned have likely extended my health and longevity. But as I always say, what do I know?

Seriously, where is one able to find a big Vienna Beef frank Chicago style in Tennessee, as I will be in my car in a New York minute!

I still have a good chuckle about the Bacon scare back in the 70's

Yes, said and done!
Vienna Beef Chicago style or an original Nathan's dog, the kind with the casing that gives it that lovely little snap when you bite in.
