We’ve recently started using a food delivery service and like it! Sometimes we don’t want to go out to a restaurant, but also don’t want to cook either, so this a great option. Does anyone else use these apps to order food?

I link to food delivery services through my Yelp app. Where I live we have both Grubhub and Eat24, they are connected to the restaurant review page on Yelp. It is very convenient to search Yelp for restaurants, read reviews, look at the menu and then link to Eat24 or Grubhub and have it delivered.

I'm done with them since my eat24 (now owned by grubhub) account got hacked and hundreds of dollars of food was ordered in a state halfway across the country from me.

Eat24 could not have been less helpful about it if they tried.

My credit card company probably ended up eating the charges while the ahole too cheap to buy their own dinner got off scott free. Never again.

If you check the online rankings for all of these companies on the Better Business Bureau they are low for a reason.

Delivery from McDonald’s to homes and businesses is huge where I live. UberEats delivers McDonald’s, and there are special parking spots just for the UberEats drivers to pick up the food.

I ride to and from the airport frequently with Uber, and some of the drivers have mentioned it to me. There is a delivery fee, a then of course you tip the driver. I don’t know what the McDonald’s delivery fee is but most of the restaurants charge $4.99 and up for a delivery.

Nope, no one here has used it.

I've used bitsquad, uber eats, grubhub, etc.

It all depends on what restaurant is contracted to whatever app. It's a convenient and fine service. It's really hard for an app to mess up an easy service like that, only problem I had if it the food is cold but that's obviously from being stuck in traffic.

What do you think is fair? How much would you want to pick up an order at a restaurant and deliver it to someone you don't know? One is welcome to pick up their own order. Delivery is a convenience for which you should expect to pay.

If you are stuck at work and can’t get away to get lunch it is worth every penny of the delivery fee and tip.

People frequently order delivery when it is pouring down rain, snowing, icy, etc. They order Grubhub or UberEats because they don’t want to go out in the weather. The delivery people definitely earn their money, and a generous tip.

Remember, the delivery people do this for a job. This is how they make their living. So of course you have to pay them. Gas isn’t cheap, and they use their own vehicles.
