Anyone drink this? Am looking for a cold-weather hot milk alternative to coffee (can't take the caffeine late at night), tea (don't like the flavor), or cocoa/cider (too sweet/fattening). Rather expensive, but how's the flavor?

I've only had the coffee chicory mix and it wasn't bad. Maybe you would get a better response if you asked in the Louisiana forum.
Decaf coffee isn't an option? Tea comes in a lot of different flavors, maybe you just haven't hit on one that appeals to you yet? I like chai tea with milk, but I've also been known to add milk to other spiced types of teas, like licorice or apple cinnamon tea.
my cold weather … drink ...is a mix of a pitcher of iced tea from bags not mix.....then mix in....honey/cinnamon/turmeric/ginger ….. i pour what i want in a mug and microwave to warm up……. i sip this at night... found this on google..... the health benefits..... go on and on....
Have you ever tried Pero? It's made from barley, malted barley, chicory and rye. I can't drink coffee - makes my GI tract very unhappy - and was tired of tea no matter the flavor so tried Pero. It smells like coffee and tastes very pleasant in a coffee-like way. It probably wouldn't work for someone into the specialty coffees but that's not me. Makes a nice cold-weather hot drink.

You might want to try Postum, a grain-based, caffeine-free coffee that has been around for about 120 years. It used to be made by the Post Cereal Co. as a healthy alternative to coffee. It's still around, but it can be hard to find in stores these days. It can be ordered online. (https://postum.com/ )
When I was a kid Postum used to be a common item in most grocery stores. More than 40 years ago there were still a lot of people from the World War II era who were addicted to it. It became popular during the war because the government rationed coffee. But even after the war ended, many people still drank it.
Post Cereal no longer makes it, I've heard. A private company bought the brand and revived it. They now market it as "Mormon coffee," since Mormons are supposed to shun caffeine.
I drank Postum for a few yrs way back when. I didn't care for coffee (then). I honestly can't even recall what it taste like but seem to recall it as a reasonable substitute.
Although, I might like the chicory stuff. I love coffee blends with chicory.
